BIO 693 Gene Therapy

This course is designed to deliver a knowledge base that is essential for understanding basic principles of gene therapy. The course covers essential elements for understanding the field of gene therapy including the history and development of the field, the classifications and uses of gene transfer vectors, the design and utility of the gene expression cassette, gene expression kinetics, barriers to gene delivery, and examples of applications of gene therapy for major disease classes including cancer and metabolic diseases.
