High School Transcript

The most important criterion in our decision to admit you as a freshman is your academic performance in high school. (If you are already studying at the college level and wish to apply for admission to transfer to Stevens, submit an official copy of all high school transcripts and college transcripts.) Your high school record should show strong performance in the following areas:

For Engineering, Computer Science and Applied Sciences:

  • Four years of English.
  • Four years of mathematics (one year of algebra; one year of geometry; one year of pre-calculus; and one year of calculus).
  • Three years of science (biology, chemistry, and physics).

For Business:

  • Four years of English.
  • Four years of mathematics (two years of algebra; one year of geometry; and one year of pre-calculus). Applicants to the Quantitative Finance program should have more extensive preparation in high school math with one year of calculus.
  • Three years of science (two of which must include biology, chemistry or physics).

For Humanities:

  • Four years of English.
  • Three years of mathematics (two years of algebra and one year of geometry). Applicants to the Science, Technology & Society program should have more extensive preparation in high school math with one year of pre-calculus.
  • One year of science (either physics, chemistry or biology).  Applicants to the Science, Technology & Society program should have more extensive preparation in high school science with three years of science (biology, chemistry and physics).
  • If you’re planning to pursue a secondary concentration in math or science, you should have more extensive preparation in high school math and science coursework.

For Accelerated Pre-Medicine Program:

  • Four years of English.
  • Four years of college prep mathematics
  • Three years of science (biology, chemistry, and physics).
  • We encourage you to pursue AP Biology and AP Chemistry, if possible.
  • Achieve a combined SAT score of 1400 (critical reading and math) or ACT composite of 32 in one sitting.  Standardized tests must be completed prior to the November 15 application deadline and results must be submitted to Stevens via the testing agency to be considered in our review.
