Dual Master of Engineering-MBA degree in Computer Engineering

The dual Master of Engineering-MBA in Computer Engineering degree is designed for students that seek to have a deep technical knowledge in computer engineering as well as strong management skills and qualifications. This joint degree will give engineering students strong business management skills to complement their engineering degree, accelerating their growth into management positions and opening a more diverse selection of career choices. The students will earn two separate master’s degrees at completion of this dual degree program.

This dual program offers an exceptional combination of management skills with deep and practical knowledge of the technical aspects of electrical and computer engineering. The MBA program is particularly suited for engineers, as it incorporates a unique blend of courses on management skills, technology and analytics skills, and human skills.

The program prepares students to:

  • apply specialized knowledge in computer engineering at an advanced level.

  • become managers/leaders in engineering firms or engineering departments of any firm.

  • pursue a Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or business administration.

Program Outcomes

By the time of graduation, students will be able to:

  • apply knowledge of mathematics and physics to problem solving in electrical engineering.

  • analyze electrical systems using engineering principles and modeling approaches.

  • design experiments and analyze results to determine process parameters, and to identify issues and methods for electrical engineering measurements.

  • use mathematical, modeling, and engineering principles to design electrical engineering processes; be able to incorporate considerations such as feasibility, applicability, cost, legal/regulatory, societal impacts, etc. in designs.

  • use computer software for data analysis, reporting and presentations.

  • write and present polished technical reports at a level expected of the engineering profession, and be able to critically evaluate the technical literature and use it to obtain solutions to electrical engineering  problems.

  • work effectively in a team.

  • understand the evaluation and development of intellectual properties.

  • recognize and achieve high levels of professionalism in work and understand ethical and moral systems in a social context.

  • display in-depth technical and managerial skills to effectively lead in technology companies in their field of study.
