HHS 342 Indigenous Cultures of North America

This course will offer a survey of United States history from the perspective of the native inhabitants of the region. The course will introduce students to major tribal groups as well as events and movements impacting these people. Examples of cultural practices will be discussed in the context of the pre-colonial era and post-conquest. The course will also highlight issues facing indigenous people today.
