PRV 961 Doctoral Signature Credit

This course develops knowledge sets and skills beyond the general core of Ph.D. studies to prepare the candidates for their careers. It consists of a series of hands-on workshops designed to develop communication skills (oral and written), leadership skills and an entrepreneurial mindset to identify and exploit research based innovation opportunities. Students work in small interdisciplinary teams to develop and present an invention disclosure. In addition they develop and present a basic business plan for their invention. Teamwork processes are fostered to train and build leadership skills. Additionally, the interdisciplinary model will foster relationships beyond students own areas of expertise.
