CE 589 Advanced Concrete Technology

This course provides state-of-the-art knowledge of fundamentals and recent advancements in concrete technology. Fundamental aspects of the ingredients of concrete, including cements, pozzolans, water, aggregates, and admixtures, and their effects on the engineering properties of fresh and hardened concrete, long-term performance, and durability will be introduced. In addition, the fundamentals, test methods, properties, and applications of special concretes such as high and fiber-reinforced cementitious composites, self-consolidating concrete, recycled materials concrete, and nanomaterials-incorporated concrete will be fully introduced.
