SYS 940 Proposal Defense

The purpose of the Research Proposal Defense is to ensure that the dissertation is appropriately scoped and all members of the DAC are in agreement with the methodology, products, validation approach, results, and unique contributions of the dissertation. Doctoral candidates are required to prepare a Research Proposal that addresses the following seven areas: (i) research content and why it is important, (ii) literature review, (iii) research outcome(s) anticipated, (iv) research validation approach, (v) specific contributions to the field, (vi) creative content and uniqueness, and (vii) anticipated obstacles. This proposal must be in a written form and formally presented to the candidate’s Doctoral Advisory Committee.
