CM 533 Infrastructure Systems: Resiliency and Sustainability
This course provides students with an overview of fundamental concepts in urban engineering and infrastructure systems. The first part of the course introduces the students with different types of urban infrastructure systems including transportation, water supply network, wastewater facilities, solid waste management, electrical power, telecommunication, and buildings, their design, major components, functionality, and operations. In the second part, students learn about different aspects of facility management for urban infrastructures including the concepts and analysis of condition assessment, resiliency, sustainability, and interdependencies. Finally, in the third part of the course, students learn about novel concepts in urban engineering including smart cities, digital twins, Internet of Things (IoT), and future cities.
