HMU 202 Music Theory II
In the second course of the music theory sequence, students will develop their understanding of diatonic harmony as found in a diverse range of music, including but not limited to popular and European classical styles. They will be introduced to concepts of performative nuance and their connection to the experience of music. Students will also begin to investigate music through Roman numeral and visual analyses. Concepts will be reinforced through performance, composition, and critical listening exercises.
