MGT 675 Future of Work: Implications for Leadership & Organizations

This is a 1.5-credit course in the Masters in Business Administration program, designed for scholar practitioners interested in the future of work (FoW) during this current period in history, often referred to as the fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). The course explores the societal transition underway and its implications across sectors of the economy. Through a review of literature by leading futurists, this course will revolve around a 2-day in-person immersive experience, supplemented by virtual gatherings, pre-work and post-event follow up. Coursework will involve reading, activities during the in-person communal learning, and pre/post event written assignments. Select activities are individual, others team-based. All coursework is designed for students to reflect on their assumptions around management, organizational leadership and workforce transformation during this dramatic period of change, while spurring suggestions for the best ways forward for society.
